Your compliance score is a percentage that represents how up-to-date your handbook is with current employment law.
How the score is calculated:
- Each section of your handbook is individually evaluated against the current laws that apply to it.
- Sections that are fully current contribute to a higher score.
- Sections that need updates due to law changes reduce the score.
- The overall score is the percentage of sections that are fully compliant.
Score ranges:
- 95–100% — Excellent. Your handbook is fully current.
- 80–94% — Good. A few sections may need attention.
- Below 80% — Action needed. Multiple sections need updates.
What can lower your score:
- A new law was passed that affects one of your sections.
- You dismissed an automatic update recommendation without applying it.
- A section hasn't been reviewed in a long time and the underlying law has been amended.
The compliance dashboard shows your overall score prominently and breaks down the status of each individual section.
